Learn to Love Your Data: R for Geospatial Data
August 9, 2022 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm
Data can be unruly. By learning to more efficiently and effectively manage research data, researchers can make projects smoother, avoid headaches and love their data.
Workshop #2: R for Geospatial Data (August 9, 10, 11–9:00 am – 12:00 noon)
Geospatial data have become increasingly common in nearly every discipline, from natural resources to urban planning, archaeology to military tactics, engineering to epidemiology, politics to environmental justice, and more. In this workshop you will learn how to better handle, analyze and visualize spatial data using R, a popular programming language.
This series is designed for researchers at any level that have a basic understanding of R and RStudio.
- Day 1: Introduction to spatial data formats (vector and raster) and importing, cleaning, and manipulating spatial data
- Day 2: Spatial analysis and basic plotting
- Day 3: Spatial data visualization (static and interactive) and data sharing
This intensive, in-person workshop series led by CSU Libraries’ data specialists will increase your understanding and skills through hands-on training guided by experts.
