P.O.S.T (Proprietary and Open Source Techniques): Elevation Data!

Join us for a Thursday “P.O.S.T.” – the Centroid’s new casual and collaborative learning event where we compare Proprietary and Open Source Techniques.
Each session, we’ll work with a different theme or dataset, and explore how to work with it in two different GIS platforms.
On October 13th, we will look at multiple ways to acquire elevation data – DEMs – using:
- ArcGIS Living Atlas data
- R’s elevatR package
- Python’s Leafmap, developed by Quisheng Wu
Bring a laptop if you have one, or use one of our Centroid lab machines. Programming experience not necessary, but general GIS skills are needed.

P.O.S.T. sessions are held the second Thursday of every month at 3:30pm in the Geospatial Centroid, 211G Morgan Library
